Get moving during the Move Week: #NowWeMove!

Last updated on Wednesday, 10/07/2024

Sport and physical activity can improve your quality of life by giving you more strength and energy and helping you better manage stress and sleep better. Start things rolling during the Move Week!

The Move Week is an annual Europe-wide event organised by the International Sport and Culture Association (ISCA) in the last week of May to promote the benefits of regular participation in sport and physical activity. This campaign takes place in the framework of the European Week of Sport during which anyone having an interest in getting people active to showcase their activity or event to their community. As a result, each year more than 4 million participants have a chance to take part in the activities organised during the Week!

 What happens?

During the Move Week, participating organisations and cities across Europe organise events to encourage citizens to come together and participate in sports or other physical activities. The spirit is to have fun while gathering the local community around a common activity.

Thousands of events take place simultaneously in a week-long festival of sport and physical activity that include open door or “try-it” events at local clubs, walking events, fun runs, bike tours, street sports events and school sports events. If you ever wanted to try a new activity, make new friends or start a healthier lifestyle, that’s the moment!

Commit to the Move Week

The Move Week is open to everyone from all over Europe. If you are part of a sports club or a school, why not suggest organising an activity during the Week?

The Week is supported by a campaign promoting sport and physical activity #NowWeMove. If you cannot participate in the events, you could join online and/or take part in other actions, such as the NoElevatorsDay on 28 April each year.
