Distance calculator

Distance calculator helps organisations calculate individuals’ travel distances to determine the grants for which they are eligiblefor Volunteering Projects managed by the national agencies (excluding Volunteering Teams in High Priority Areas and Humanitarian Aid Volunteering). Please see Programme guide for more details about applicable distance bands.

This tool isnot designed to tell individualshow much funding they should receive. The level of the support for travel cost depends on several factors including the administrative costs incurred by the participating organisations. Organisations may either transfer the funds directly to participants or arrange and provide their travel tickets.

To use the calculator

  1. Start typing a place name in the ‘Start’ box. A list of possible place names will appear. Click on the correct one.
  2. Do the same thing with the ‘End’ box.
  3. Press the ‘Enter’ key on your keyboard. The distance in kilometers will appear.

You must type in the name of a specific city, town, or village - not just a country.
